the military-industrial complex employs your kids
By audhill | September 23, 2007
CoolCatTeacher blogs about relevance and getting out of our ruts… and boy is she right. We need to prepare our children for the future. But does that mean they shouldn’t learn to sew a hem or make their own cheese, even? It’s worthwhile learning. Should they only learn things that make them more marketable? On the other hand, should they learn everything that might make them marketable? Relevancy sounds good…. when it’s OUR definition of relevant. But what happens when it’s THEIRS ?
The Onion makes the joke. Mother Jones talks about a scary, real world application and Marginal Revolution puts the two together. Being relevant…. preparing for when the military-industrial complex employs your kids.
